The City of Toronto’s Environment and Climate Division has been directed by Toronto City Council to undertake the necessary steps to study a proposed ban on the use of two-stroke small engine equipment.
Landscape Ontario has been engaged to develop a State of the Industry report for the City of Toronto that will outline the landscape industry’s willingness and ability to move towards the use of battery-powered landscape equipment and away from two-stroke small engine equipment. The equipment outlined in this report includes: leaf blowers, mowers, string/line trimmers, chain saws, pole saws, hedge trimmers, power brush/brooms, power washers, rototillers, earth augers, vibratory compactors, saws (concrete, stone, metal, etc.), drills, pumps (water pumps, sprayer pumps, etc.), and generators.
This is our chance to be heard. Please complete this survey and provide as much detail as possible. This survey is open to all landscape contractors operating across Canada. We appreciate your participation!
Included in the final report will be case studies that will detail 15-20 landscape companies’ experiences within transitioning to battery-powered equipment. If you are interested in sharing your experience, please connect with Cassandra Garrard at cassandra@landscapeontario.com or 1-800-265-5656 x2397.
